24+4 Bump Picture and more...

Hey all,

Its come to that time again for another update. I know! Can you believe it!?
So, i'm now 24 weeks, which i explained in my last update our little girl is now viable and seen as a baby rather that a fetus :) Yay!
I had my monthly midwife appointment today, all seems well. She took my blood pressure and that measured 110/60 which is pretty average for me looking back through my notes. I also got weighed, i'm now 78.3 Kgs. The last time i got weighed was 4 weeks ago and since then i have put on 2.8 Kgs, which works out as 6.2 lbs, so not bad considering. That's just under 2 lbs a week.
The midwife took madams heart rate and that is measuring 156 BPM, which is spot on. She also had a feel around and told me that baby is lying transverse, which is very much normal.
I also got given my MAT B1 form, woo hoo. I've printed off my letter to my manager as well so that can be handed in tomorrow, meaning i will hopefully get a date written in stone as to when my maternity leave will start :D
I now have my GTT (Glucose Tolerance Test) booked in for the 17th August and i am NOT looking forward to it.
From midnight the night before i'm not allowed anything to eat or drink apart from water and my appointment isn't until 9:30am. When i arrive I have to have some blood taken and drink a glucose drink then wait for 2 hours in the surgery, still not being able to eat or drink and then have another lot of bloods taken once the 2 hours is up. Oh the fun! I hate having bloods taken, and waiting, so on an empty stomach will be even worse. I have just got to think it's all for a good cause!
I did bring up a few concerns with the midwife so she has asked me to come back again in two weeks on the 8th, just to make sure everything is ok.

I think that's everything covered ha ha.

I suppose now it's time for my bump pictures...

Not much of a change this week i don't think

So as you know i've been bargain hunting and in the last week more of the items i bought of Ebay arrived, yay :) Here's what i bought...

4 Newborn sleepsuits (First 2 Next, second 2 Mothercare) - £2.48

Both up to 1 month, Jacket and trouser set (Baby Pink), Dress (M&S) - Together 99p

Newborn Little Roo Romper (Disney) - £5

0-3 Winter Coat (Matalan) - 50p

I'm still waiting for a couple more bits to arrive in the post, once they are here i shall upload pictures in my next update. I'm sure i will grab myself some more bargains as well :)

I think that's all for this week, i can't think of anything else.

23+4 Bump Picture and more...

Hey all,

First of all i would like to share my happy news.
My OH has been waiting to feel little one move for a while now seeing as i have been feeling her kick and move for quite a good few weeks now. Well last night i was laying in bed and could feel her moving around, so my OH puts his hand on my belly, and as usual she goes quiet. However he left his hand there for a little while and he felt her move, twice!! We both couldn't stop smiling as it feels like its been forever waiting for him to feel her.

Then today, i'm sat down relaxing watching a little bit of TV and feeling her move as usual. I rest my phone on my belly and continue watching the TV. Out the corner of my eye i see my phone move. I look down at my belly and can see my phone bouncing up and down. She's kicking my phone!! I then take it off my belly and continue to see my belly moves as she moves!! Wow...it is just so amazing! It feels like it is becoming so real now! However i now cannot stop staring at my belly ha ha.

The weeks are seriously flying by, i mean its only 3 days until V-day!! Woohoo! This means that if i happened to go into labor at 24 weeks Drs would do everything they could to keep our little one alive. According to statistics online she would have a survival rate of 40-70%. As the weeks go by the greater this percentage increases. However, touch wood this does not happen and i make it to the full 40 weeks!

Its come to that time again to update my bump pictures, so here they are...

Not much more has happened this week, purchased a couple more baby bits on Ebay but waiting for them all to arrive, so once they are all here i will take pictures and upload them :)

I have my midwife appointment next Wednesday, so i shall also update you on that too.

22+4 Bump Picture and more...

Hey all,

Its time for me to update you all with another bump picture, it only seems like yesterday that i uploaded the last!

She is certainly growing away in there as even my tops and t-shirts are too small for me to wear now :( Thank god for Primark and their £2.50 stretchy strap vests ha ha. I've currently been living in them with either leggings or my maternity jeans. Sooo Comfy :)

So here is this weeks bump pictures...

As usual i haven't been able to resist from buying things for my little girl and have found myself picking up lots of bargains on Ebay and also from Buy, Swap & Sell on a Forum that i have joined.

I picked up; A up to 1 month pink dotty romper - £2, A Newborn pink romper - £1.50, A Newborn two piece vest and dress - £3, A Newborn pink winter coat - £2 and a up to 1 month hearts sleep suit - £1.

I took a picture for you all to see :) Not the best though...

I have also bought a few more items off Ebay but i'm still waiting for them to arrive, once they do i shall upload pictures :)

Since receiving the free bottle from Philips Avent i came up with an idea. I thought why not email other companies asking for free samples of their bottles.
I emailed Tommee Tippee, Nuby, Mam, Dr Browns, Medela and also Boots. I received replies from all companies apart from Medela. Dr Browns and Boots replied back stating they don't give out samples, however Tommee Tippee, Nuby and Mam said they would be happy to send me some. I have so far received bottles from TT and Nuby, i had an email from Mam today saying they had popped one in the post :)

I have written seperate posts to review the bottles i have been sent, you can find them here - Tommee Tippee ReviewNuby Bottle Review

Nuby Natural Touch Step 1: Silicone Newborn Feeding Bottle 5oz/150ml review...

Hey all,

As i am becoming a new in November I have been having to make many decisions.
I have decided that i would love to breastfeed and be able to express my milk so that my other half can bond with the baby by feeding (plus it means he can get up in the night and do night feeds too).
I have been trying to decide which bottles i would like to use but there are so many on the market to choose from!
I emailed Nuby and asked if i could have a sample of their Natural Touch Step 1: Silicone Newborn feeding bottle 150ml/5oz. They emailed back quickly stating they would be happy to send me a bottle which i received in the post yesterday.

Here is a couple pictures of the bottle...

The Bottle:

The bottle caught my eye straight away, even though its only 150ml it is quite a bit bigger than other bottles on the market. I love the feel of it, its made from a medical grade silicone which is very soft to touch and is also squeezable which encourages milk flow.
The bottle is easy to hold as it has the indentations on either side of the bottle and because of the silicone it is very light weight. The measurement markings on the side of the bottle are slightly transparent but can be felt as they slightly stick out. They are easy to read, however the picture above does not show this very clearly.

The Teat:

The teat is a lovely shape and is very flexible, it stretches and moves to mimic the mums nipple. The larger teat would allow a baby to latch on more easily and because it is so nipple like it would avoid any nipple confusion when switching between breast and bottle feeding. The teat also has built in anti-colic valves to help reduce the risk your baby getting colic.
The bottle itself also has an anti-colic base, which i really love. The valves in both the bottom of the bottle and the teat allow air to flow into the bottle. This then reduces the amount of suction your baby needs to apply and decreases the amount your baby is digesting. This then all round makes feeding more natural.

Using the bottle:

Firstly i took this bottle apart, just like i would if i was going to sterlise it. I found this very easy to do and literally took me seconds. It comes apart in 5 parts, however the photo above only shows 4. Having the 5 parts means that it is very snug fit which would prevent leaks easily. It also very simple to assemble and again this only took me seconds. I love the fact i could do this in literally no time as it means i won't have a crying baby waiting for a feed as i try and put the bottle back together again.

You can buy this bottle on its own for £5.99 on the Nuby website - http://www.nuby-uk.com/index.html

This product was given to me without charge. The views and opinions are all my own and i have not been paid to review this product.

Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature 150ml easivent bottle review...

Hey all,

As i am becoming a mum in November i have been having to make many decisions. I have decided that i would love to breastfeed and be able to express my milk so that my other half can bond with the baby by feeding (plus it means he can get up and do night feeds too)
I have been trying to decide which bottles i would like to use but there are so many on the market to choose from!
I emailed Tommee Tippee and asked if i could have a sample of their Closer to nature 150ml easivent bottle. They emailed back quickly stating they would be happy to send me a bottle which i received in the post today.

Here is a couple pictures of the bottle...

The bottle:

The bottle itself is quite a simple design, however it looks sleek and modern. I love the shape as it has indentations on either side of the bottle which makes it really easy to hold. I like this as it means when the baby is old enough to self feed the bottle isn't too big and bulky and would be easy for them to grasp in their little hands.
The measurement markings on the bottle are very easy to read as the fl oz/ml are written in clear bold numbers (as seen in picture above).

The Teat:

The teat is designed to mimic the natural flex and feel of the mothers breast. I must say it is very soft to touch and has lots of flexible movement which i like. I would be happy to use this as i would be confident that it would be easy to switch between breast and bottle feeding without the baby having nipple confusion.

Using the bottle:

Firstly i took the bottle apart, like i would if i was going to sterilise it. This was very very easy to do. It comes apart in 4 pieces, as you can see in the picture above. I then put it back together again which was also very easy, it literally took me seconds. I love the fact i could do it very quickly as it means i wouldn't have a crying baby waiting for a feed as i'm trying to assemble a bottle back together.

You can buy this bottle in a pack of 2 for £9.49 on the Tommee Tippee Website - http://www.tommeetippee.co.uk/

The product was given to me without charge. The opinions and views are all my own and i am not paid to review products.

I Love Bargains :D...

Hey all,

Just a quick post as i thought i would update you with a couple of cute baby buys that i bought today :)

Me and the OH popped into Mothercare to pay off some of our BabyPlan and also had a look around.

We ended up buying a couple bits for little miss. We picked up this cute vest in size 0-3 months, it was originally £5.00 but we got it for £3.00 :)

I've been looking for reasonably priced hooded towels everywhere, even on Ebay they seem to be on the tad expensive side but in Mothercare they had this set of 3 for £9.99 instead of £12.99, i thought that was a good deal so picked them up.

We then popped into TKMaxx to have a look at their bedding sets that we saw last time we were there, however they didn't have any in. Instead we looked at the baby clothes they had and found this very cute pram set in size Newborn which was £34.99 but we got it for £9.99, bargain!! We both thought it would be ideal for the little one seeing as she is due in November!

I must admit me and the OH are bargain hunters and the only baby item we have paid full price for so far is the Cot and Mattress, which is pretty good going i think.

What's better than a bargain?
Freebies!! Philips Avent sent us a free sample of one of their new 4oz Natural Bottles which on its own costs £7.50!! These are the bottles i was thinking of getting for little miss, however i'm not going to need that many as i'm planning on breastfeeding, but you never know if complications will occur so its always a good idea to have some bottles for back-up!

21+4 Bump Picture and more...

Hey all,

It's time for me to update with another bump picture :) I seem to be getting bigger each week so she is defiantly growing in there!

The bump also seems to be getting rounder too :) I'm starting to have quite a few people comment now as well. As i'm getting bigger i'm starting to feel her move a lot more as well, especially when i am relaxing. I'm not sure if i'm feeling proper kicks yet, but they are defiantly stronger prods! My OH is still waiting to feel her move, bless.

As i said last week i had picked out a handmade quilted blanket from the market my mum works in. I picked it up on Friday and and took a few photos, not the best mind!

I have been looking around to see if i can find any other Nursery items which will match the dolls house theme as i think it would look lovely! Also it's not too pink, as i'm not a great fan of the colour! I may even attempted to make my own few bits, i.e cushions.
